JARHEAD

One of the years, best trailers follows a very basic formula, striking images paired with effective music. The first half makes you think this film is going to be a comedy along the lines of THREE KINGS, and I liked the use of “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” The rap song that takes up the back half of the trailer threw me at first, but once the female chorus kicks in it’s just one great, emotionally stirring shot after another. If I hadn’t already seen the movie, my expectations would have jumped through the roof after seeing this. By the way, don’t be fooled by Chris Cooper’s prominent placement among the cast. He’s only in a couple of scenes.
