Plastic Surgery Stories Need A Fresh Twist
Here’s the plot of every episode of “Nip/Tuck” this season:
1. The two surgeon consultation: "Tell me what you don't like about yourself."
2. This week's patient requests something unorthodox, unprecedented or illegal.
3. The two doctors debate. One of them wants to perform the procedure, not for the medical argument he gives but because of something going on in his personal life.
4. It is decided not to perform the surgery.
5. A new element is added in both the case and the doctor’s personal life and they agree to perform the surgery.
6. In the end, something terrible happens that wouldn’t have if the surgery wasn’t performed. (If it doesn’t occur by the end of the episode, it will surely happen next week.)
The show is still quite good, but it only really escapes the melodrama when The Carver gets involved.
