RAZZLE DAZZLE: X-MEN 3 Teaser
Easily one of the most anticipated movies of 2006, the teaser gives a glimpse to the possible success of the series without the guiding hand of Bryan Singer. My observations:
The general tone of the trailer is very similar to the teaser for THE MATRIX sequels, with Xavier taking on the Morpheus role, talking in pseudo-babble while the visuals dazzle the eye. The music is very well-chosen, nicely underplayed. Even when the men’s choir threatens to get bombastic, it’s very minimal.
Halle Berry struts around in her new haircut and continues to look like she has no clue what she’s doing. The worst shot in the trailer is easily the one where she tornados around throwing punches.
The visuals have an epic quality that makes me think Brett Ratner’s plan is to blatantly rip off the grand scale style of James Cameron.
I’m not sure about casting Ben Foster as Angel or Vinnie Jones’ look as Juggernaut, but Kelsey Grammer looks great as Beast.
The SUV crash is simply a great trailer moment.
Ian McKellen seems less interesting this time, like he’s boiled down to moustache-twirling evil.
The series has never known what to do about Cyclops, and his new hot, young, rebel look doesn’t look like a step in the right direction.
Overall, there’s a lot that’s good, but I never quite get the bad Bret Ratner taste out of my mouth.
Overall Rating: 7 out of 10

there is nothing in this trailer that makes me believe this will be a good movie... i believe there will be cool moments, but i am unconvinced overall. i hope that Ratner can prove me wrong...
Looking forward to the third movie as the first bombed out and the second was good.
As long as the movie isn't centered around Wolverine it has a chance of being good.
If they do that again, it will get old. (might as well call it Wolverine's sidekicks).
It is really very good movie. I have seen it 3 times and equally enjoyed every time. You must watch it.
